Indian Start-up Ecosystem Created 4 Lac Jobs New Delhi, Sept 12 (KNN) The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has said that the startup ecosystem in the country has led to creation of over 4 lakh jobs.

Releasing the results of the second edition of ‘Ranking of States on Support to Startup Ecosystems’ through a virtual felicitation ceremony Minister of Commerce & Industry (MCI) Piyush Goyal termed Startups as ‘solution oriented’ and ones having ‘out-of-box thinking’.

“Prime Minister has been fully appreciative and supportive of promoting entrepreneurs who are important from the point of job creation, expanding economic activity and for the prosperity of people”, he said.

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has conducted the second edition of the States’ Startup Ranking Exercise, with the key objective to foster competitiveness and propel States and Union Territories to work proactively towards uplifting the startup ecosystem.

Minister of State for Commerce & Industry & Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Civil Aviation, Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri and Minister of State for Commerce & Industry Som Parkash and Secretary DPIIT Dr. Guruprasad Mahopatra were present during the ceremony.

Highlighting importance of entrepreneurship, Hardeep Singh Puri said that societies that have developed across the globe, have developed ecosystems for encouraging entrepreneurships, and collaborative solution development.

“Strong ecosystem for startup is necessary for the country to reach the levels of tn economy by 2024”, he added while expressing happiness that the mindset of our people is changing from the job seekers to job providers.

Speaking on the occasion Minister Som Parkash said that the ranking will encourage young entrepreneurs who have skills and ideas to start their businesses.

The country has become 3rd largest ecosystem in the world’, he said.
