Exhibition and Fashion Show Aheli-Khadi to be held at NIFT Gandhinagar on September 11 Gandhinagar, Sept 10 (KNN) The Centre of Excellence for Khadi (CoEK) is organising an exhibition and a Fashion Show ‘Aheli Khadi’ at the Tana Riri Auditorium, NIFT Gandhinagar on September 11.

CoEK through this exhibition aims to promote and pitch Khadi at a relatable, high design level. It also wishes to encourage the use of khadi as an environmentally sustainable fabric to replace the non-biodegradable unsustainable product in the domain of home and apparel.

Manoj Goel, the chairman of KVIC will be the chief guest for the event.

The fashion show will be attended by KVIC officials, academia, designers, industry members, and students.

Various handloom collections of apparel and sarees ranging from ethnic, fusion, western and casual looks will be on display at the event. Home linen collection with products ranging from cushion covers, table linens etc. will also be available.

The core objective for setting up the Center of Excellence for Khadi (CoEK) was to reach out to the youth and the global market.

CoEK was conceived by the Ministry of MSME to support Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) in association with the National Institute of Fashion Technology. (KNN Bureau)
