Piyush Goyal to address meeting of Board of Trade amidst growth concerns New Delhi, Sept 5 (KNN) Ministry of Commerce and Industry has called the meeting of Board of Trade to consult captains of the trade and industry on September 13, 2022 in New Delhi.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal is to address the meeting.

The meeting has assumed significance amidst the rising concerns of slower GDP growth in India than expected. The economic growth in the April-June quarter has proved short of most forecasts.

While Indias domestic consumption story also seems to be limping, the exports are seen as a potential growth area in view of the emerging space in global value chains.

The meeting of the Board of Trade is likely to discuss how the opportunities in GVCs can be successfully tapped by Indian exporters.

Besides the top officials of the central ministries, NITI Aayog and EPCs, all major industry bodies such as CII, FICCI, FIEO, ASSOCHAM, FISME, LBU, etc. are represented in the Board of Trade. (KNN Bureau)
