Panaji: Cmde B B Nagpal NM IN (Retd), chairman and managing director Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) on Friday, urged local MSME units to actively participate in the company’s shipbuilding programme.
He said that, the shipyard has a considerable order book to execute in the coming years and needs a strong ancillary industry and ecosystem to support its shipbuilding programmes.
Highlighted the need for all MSME vendors to register on the GeM platform, Nagpal said that, the portal’s features must be utilized and used advantageously by Goan units. The CMD of GSL was speaking at a MSME vendor registration programme organised by CII-Goa at Shipyard Sadan, Vasco
To align with the Prime Minister’s vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat and to attain Swyampurna Goem, CII-Goa had organised a session on MSME vendor registration with GSL and GeM for business promotion.
The programme aimed at boosting the business of local units by encouraging them to become vendors of GSL through the government eMarket (GEM). More than 65 MSME’s attended the session.
Atul Jadhav, chairman, CII Goa appreciated GSL’s effort for being in the forefront to promote MSMEs and the Konkan Maritime Cluster in the state. He said that, the shipbuilding and defence sectors have tremendous potential to become self-reliant. Swetika Sachan, director industries trade and commerce, offered support by way of ease of doing business.
